Proposal for new EU Exhaust Emission Regulation published

The European Commission adopted the proposal for a new EU Exhaust Emission regulation for NRMM on 25 September. CECE welcomed that important requirements such as predictable introduction pace and emission limits are met, but calls for further refinement of the regulation, in particular regarding replacement engines and concerns of niche equipment manufacturers. European Commission consults industry on reaching 2020 targets

The European Commission’s DG Enterprise questioned industry stakeholders last month during a meeting as part of their ‘mid-term review of the EU 2020 strategy’. Market Surveillance of Products: a long way to go

CECE has learned that the European Commission received orders from the EU Council to conduct a Cost-Benefit Analysis of the Rules of Origin clause, contained in the Consumer Products Safety proposal. New ATEX guidelines under preparation

The new ATEX (Explosive Atmosphere) Directive 2014/34/EU will become applicable as of 20 April 2016. CECE Project Team on Noise starts its activities

The European Commission will issue soon a public call for tender to start a study on a possible revision of the Outdoor Noise Directive (2000/14/EC). This study is supposed to start in the first quarter of 2015 and will end by the end of 2015. The contractor will study the limit values of equipment and will evaluate if they can be lowered.
