The Construction and Agricultural Equipment Security and Registration Scheme (CESAR) is the UK’s official security initiative designed to deter theft and aid in the recovery of high-value machinery. It is the industry standard with over 700,000 systems supplied to all major brands in both construction and agriculture industries.

Owned by the Construction Equipment Association (CEA) and powered by Datatag ID Ltd, the scheme uses advanced forensic marking technologies to give every asset a unique "fingerprint."  The now iconic triangular CESAR ID ‘plate’ features a unique asset code printed on to a tamper evident material.  Backing this up are ultra-high frequency RFID transponders, microscopic Datadots® and a unique chemical forensic DNA.

Asset details, stored on a secure accredited database linked to the Police National Computer, are accessible via a 24/7 contact centre or a secure web based portal - RAPID.   This ensures that law enforcement can identify CESAR marked assets instantly - even if manufacturer’s original serial plates have been removed.
