CECE co-signs joint industry statement on the AI omnibus Administrative clean-up or a boost for Europe’s AI competitiveness

CECE together with 45 other European and national industry associations, have co-signed a joint industry letter on the upcoming AI Omnibus.

he signatories represent companies across Europe in sectors affected by the AI Act, including manufacturing, healthcare, energy and digital technologies.

The joint statement highlights great concerns from industry about overlapping rules and complex compliance requirements, especially for products already regulated under existing safety laws.

Our key asks:
•      Ensure a coherent regulatory approach for products already covered by sectoral legislation (e.g. machinery, medical devices).
•      Better align the timelines of the AI Omnibus and Digital Omnibus.
•      Table and swiftly adopt a targeted proposal to postpone the AI Act application deadlines.
