In the latest part of a Europe-wide tour to meet member associations, CECE Secretary General, Riccardo Viaggi, visited Sweden on 16/17th November.

Hosted by Lars Goran Andersson, CECE VP & SACE Chairman, Riccardo visited Volvo CE Operations Eskilstuna and SACE offices in Stockholm. The meetings were useful to exchange on the positive market conditions and future outlook, the pending regulatory issues and the future technology changes.

The day at Eskilstuna included very interesting presentations and fruitful discussions with Volvo CE representative in the CECE High-level group on technical policy, Pelle Bokedal, CECE TC Chairman Stefan Nilsson, Sales President Carl Slotte and Project Manager Uwe Müller for a focus on the future of electrification and autonomous machines.

A very interesting element of the exchanges was the Construction Climate Challenge in which environmental & social “responsibility” of the machinery sector is used to positively influence and leverage change in the whole construction value chain – an approach that CECE wants to follow also in the Brussels arena, as recently proposed and endorsed at the CECE Summit in October in Brussels.
