ITF note on NRMM engine emissions type-approval issued by VCA in case of hard Brexit

The Industrial Task Force composed by CECE, EGMF, FEM, Eunited,Euromot,Europgen, CEMA has released a document on non-road mobile machinery engine Exhaust Emission Type-approvals issued by UK vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) in case of no -deal Brexit and the application of Regulation E(U) 2019/26 complementing EU type-approval legislation.

In the case of no-deal ('hard') Brexit on 29 March 2019 certain EU exhaust emission type-approvals issued by the UK VCA will no longer be acceptable for placing engines on the EU market. However, for NRMM the situation is complicated by the transition from type-approvals issued under 97/68/EC to those under Regulation (EU) 2016/1628 for Stage V. This document aims to provide clarity for all actors involved.
