CECE brings EU policymakers to bauma
During the bauma week, CECE has hosted two guests from the European Commission: Mehdi Hocine, Head of Unit for Machinery and Katharina Knapton-Vierlich, Head of Unit for Construction. Both guests had an occassion to visit CECE member companies' booths in order to learn about the impressive range of products and latest technologies in the sector.
Bringing together the construction equipment industry and the European Institutions is our role, as those occassions provide stakeholders with a deeper insight into the complexity of the construction equipment sector.
On Thursday we have put together a comprehensive tour of CECE member companies' booths for our Guest of the Day, Mehdi Hocine, Head of Unit, Machinery, DG GROW. Mehdi Hocine got a unique opportunity to see the wide range of products that CECE membership represents. Thank you for this insightful discussion on regulation and innovation.
On Friday, our Guest of the Day, Katharina Knapton-Vierlich, Head of Unit for Construction, DG GROW started the day with a keynote speech on the role and impact of EU policies on the road to zero emissions in construction activities. The keynote was delivered during the CECE ERA event organised within the bauma Forum on the 'Road to Zero Emission'. Afterwards, Katharina Knapton-Vierlich met with CECE members who presented the latest technologies and trends in our sector and assured that our machinery is ready for the green and digital future.
Katharina Knapton-Vierlich has also participated in the CECE FIEC event on the reconstruction effort in Ukraine. During the intervention, she called for a new Marshall Plan that would also meet the European green ambitions. Integrating Ukraine into the wider European family while rebuilding the country with care and foresight is the key, she said. You can read more in our Press Release.
Thank you to our guests for joining us at bauma and thank you to CECE members for showcasing the state of the art machinery!
