Investing in people comes first – CECE attends the ERA Convention
Last week, CECE attended the European Rental Association, ERA Convention focused on the challenges encountered by the equipment rental industry in attracting people to the sector, retention, development, training, diversity and inclusion.
The theme of this year’s Convention is close to heart for CECE members and was tackled during the CECE Congress, at the beginning of the year. Both the European construction and rental equipment sectors recognise the need of addressing the issues of inclusivity and sectors’ attractiveness towards young talent. Investing in people should always come first, fostering talent and innovation is the key to building a better future for the construction sector as a whole.
The second day of the event was dedicated to the update of the European rental equipment market. Attendees had a chance to learn about the forecasts for rental growth in 2023 on the back of better than expected construction growth: ERA’s consultants, S&P Global, have uprated this year’s rental growth forecasts for all but two of the eight largest rental markets in Europe.
Moreover, this 17th edition of the ERA Convention in Maastricht took place alongside the International Rental Exhibition, IRE, the only exhibition in Europe dedicated only to the rental industry. The APEX exhibition, dedicated to aerial platforms, also take place in the same premises.
CECE is glad to reinforce the collaboration between the two organisations – we believe that a holistic approach of a full value chain allows for a successful addressal of the challenges of the construction industry.
